i only mentioned moving the bbv around because he just changed it. should it be all the way down on it? mine was never "from the factory" so i dont know where its supposed to sit.

Simulated 1/4 seems reasonable based on the mods and people get a hard on for peak numbers too often. I often find that the most valuable time spent at the dyno is identifying your issues and fixing your tune in a controlled environment.

I'm an ESP fan - Dave; is that you posting? This is Brian with the turbo Monte and the 40th; hope all is well man!

Yeah, its me. Sorry, I apparently was a little to bored and wanted to walk through the gunfire over in that other forum :) That was a good time.

Anyway, yeah we really had a good session identifying some of the issues going on with the car. Didn't think the numbers were too bad, considering the issues with the car. I also didn't think we were at all done with the tune, just optimized it so that it will be safe once the boost issues get resolved. I think the highest GTP out of a few dozen was 248 torque on our machine. It certianly doesn't give up numbers easily.

You may want to pulley up to a 3.5 until you work out your tune. I was never able to run the 3.4 fully KR free with my 1.9 rockers and plog/pem. Headers helped. Cam is best.

If you can get your timing and fueling ideal with the 3.5 you can add some more timing for more power... maybe then you can get 19* working and see some power but there is a balance you must strike.

this ^ Derek has seen the same things i have...

with a 3.5 kr will not be retarding timing as frequently and you can run more timing , without headers i always saved the 3.4 to throw on at the track with race fuel and the same timing I ran on the 3.5 - was always good for 13.5 on a plog stock rockers car with traps in the 103 range. To put pulley size in perspective I made 1 pass on a 3.8 pulley one night where I was running consistent 13.5's on the 3.4 and it ran 13.91 with my worst 60 foot of the night and still trapped 102 , should have been a 13.7 pass - pulley size aint all that

its going to be real hard to get your tune dialed in as long as your boost is inconsistent , I have never had a car on a dyno but if the pulls are long your pcm may be closing the bbv - there are some areas in the tune where that can happen - on a typical 13 sec pass at the track you should onlu need full boost for about 10-11 seconds as you wont be wide open until well after the 60 foot which typically takes 2 seconds + or -

Sounds like you had a really good experience at ESP, what did the dyno tune cost you overall? How much tuning will they do?
Factory GTP for now.....

sry for the gap in time, been working ALOT. i replaced the BBV yesterday and sprayed brake cleaner searching for any potential vacuum leaks. i NEED to get my gauges installed so i can check if boost levels went back to normal. once boost is back i can return to ESP and hopefully advance some timing and make this pig run faster...who can help me? i got cash
